Why does the Code not specifically mention other relevant laws such as the General Data Protection Requirement?
The Code covers the main legal requirements applicable to interactions and activities carried out by a pharmaceutical company in relation to the promotion of their medicines and a number of areas which are non-promotional. Clause 3.4 requires companies compliance with applicable codes, laws and regulations. It would not be possible for the Code to cover every relevant law or regulation; ensuring the Code was up to date in this regard at all times would not be feasible.
