What is promotion?
The definition of promotion in Clause 1.17, is very broad and far reaching. Promotion is any activity undertaken by a pharmaceutical company, or with its authority, which promotes the administration, consumption, prescription, purchase, recommendation, sale, supply or use of its medicines.
There are exemptions listed in Clause 1.17. As companies are commercially interested parties, it is often helpful to consider how you would demonstrate or explain why a material, item, activity or interaction is not promotion.
