Jo Martin KC has been appointed as Chair of the Code of Practice Appeal Board

The PMCPA is delighted to announce that Jo Martin KC has been appointed Chair of the Code of Practice Appeal Board.  The PMCPA welcomes Ms Martin to her new role which starts on 17 November 2025.  Ms Martin succeeds Ms Kate Brunner KC who has chaired the Appeal Board for the last five years.

Ms Martin has worked in the law, predominantly in the criminal justice system for over 30 years. Since taking silk in 2018, Ms Martin has continued with a wide-ranging legal practice including criminal and regulatory law.  Ms Martin has regulatory experience with the Serious Fraud Office and she has also undertaken regulatory work prosecuted by the Health and Safety Executive, and the Environment Agency. She sits as a Recorder (part time judge) in both criminal and private family law jurisdictions.  She served as Leader of the Western Circuit from 2022-2025, representing barristers in the South West.

The PMCPA is very grateful to Ms Brunner for her leadership and contribution over the last five years to ensure the independent administration of self-regulation of the pharmaceutical industry.  We wish her every success in the future.
