Amendment of the Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry

​The changes to the Code of Practice and a summary of responses to the consultation are attached to the side.

Provided there are no changes required following publication of the new regulations (The Human Medicines Regulations 2012) which are expected to be published later this month to become law on 2 July, the Second 2012 Edition of the Code will come into operation on 1 July 2012. During the period 1 July to 31 October 2012, no promotional material or activity will be regarded as being in breach of the Code if it fails to comply with its provisions only because of newly introduced requirements.

It is anticipated that electronic copies of the Second 2012 Edition of the Code will be available shortly. Printed copies will also be available in due course.
