Code Awareness Week 2011

Code Awareness Week 2011

Awareness of the ABPI Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry amongst health professionals has increased significantly during the last five years as a result of Code awareness activities first launched in 2006.

To build on the success of previous activities to support the Code and reinforce the role of health professionals in maintaining high standards, Code Awareness Week 2011 will run from 4 April to 8 April 2011.

To help engage health professionals in learning about the Code and self regulation by the pharmaceutical industry, the PMPCA has developed an e-learning module which is certified as conforming to continuing professional development (CPD) guidelines.

It will be launched during Code Awareness Week 2011. This will be one of the free resources available from the PMCPA to help companies run their own Code awareness activities. It will be available from the PMCPA website.

Companies are requested to support Code Awareness Week 2011 by allocating time for sales representatives and others who have contact with external stakeholders to promote the Code and the e-learning module to doctors, pharmacists, nurses and NHS management as part of their regular programme of calls.
