The Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) administers The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry’s (ABPI) Code of Practice at arm’s length from the ABPI itself.
The ABPI Code covers the promotion of medicines for prescribing to health professionals and the provision of information to the public about prescription only medicines.
We are responsible for operating the complaints procedure as well as providing advice, guidance and training on the ABPI Code. Find out more here.
Information on how the PMCPA fits with other regulatory bodies that deal with medicines can be found here.
